Grand Canyon

I'm a little behind and trying to play catchup. This year for birthdays and Christmas my parents decided to have our family reunion at the Grand Canyon. We all drove to Williams, Arizona on March 14th. We went to an airplane museum that was about 15 miles outside Williams. It was pretty cool. I loved seeing all the older planes.

This plane reminded me of "Mater" in the movie Cars.

I love the teddy bear pilot.

Keya taking a picture of her mom.

I loved this old car. How fun would it be to own a piece of history like this!

We had to split into two groups. This was the second group coming into the hanger.

My boys!

Wait - is Jordan actually smiling!? I may faint.

My awesome, amazing sisters - you can totally tell that we are related. They are like me and hate their picture being taken. Love them!

My wonderful parents. Love them too!

I love flags, especially ones that are blowing straight out. It reminds me of our freedom and everyone that served, is serving, or will be serving. I will never forget them and the freedoms which me and my family enjoy. I love this country!

Then we went to this really cool museum that had old cars. I love old fashioned cars. I think they are so cool. The own said that most of them weren't in working condition, but boy would it be fun to have a car like that!

After the car museum, we went back to Williams and went to dinner. We ate at an Italian place that was really yummy. Then off to bed (for the old ones, the young ones went swimming) and up at 7:00 to leave for the Grand Canyon. I absolutely loved the Grand Canyon. It is a wonder of the world for sure.

The whole group (minus me of course and those that didn't come).

I seriously LOVE my boys - and yes, my husband is included in that too. He is a boy and he is mine. Even though they get mad at me for taking so many pictures, one day I know that they will appreciate it!

This is a picture that I took of Dylan overlooking the Canyon.

This is the same picture just taken at a different angle by Kristy.

There were two bus loads of people from Japan visiting the Grand Canyon. They were by us almost the whole time, until we stopped and had lunch. It was so fun to see their excitement.

These blue birds were so pretty and there were a ton of them. Can't really tell from these pictures, though.

Lunch time - technically it was not lunch, but around 10:00. Most people didn't eat breakfast so they were starved by then.

I got so mad at Dylan when he climbed out on this ledge. You can't really tell, but it is a LONG way down and there is nothing but a huge drop off - one little slip and he would have been gone. I know I'm a paranoid mother, but I can't help it. I was not a happy camper after this, especially after I told him not to go out there.

Kristy and Javin giving each other high fives.

Kolar was getting tired and Jordan was nice enough to give Kol a ride!

For some reason I really liked these old trees. They remind me of a family tree - of who I am, where I've come from, and those that will be here after me. I have a great lineage and I am proud of where I have come from!

This reunion was made possible by my amazing parents. They have sacrificed so much for all of us and have been the best examples ever. I am so blessed to have them as my parents and to have such a good relationship with them. I know that so many people can't wait to get away from home, but I am so glad that I live close to my parents and siblings. Love you guys tons!

Finally proof that I was there!

Me and my awesome boys! I have a wonderful husband and amazing boys. I couldn't be more blessed!

The reunion was so much fun. Glad we were able to go and create some lasting memories!

  1. You got some great pictures and I am jealous that you got a great family picture with all of you even smiling. Now that is an accomplishment. Loved reading your post! You are awesome! And I love that I am not the only crazy lady with a camera-lol!

  2. Yeah I think we are all starting to be paparazzi like Kristy and take lots of pictures, and like you said it might make the kids mad now, but someday they will look back and appreciate going through the pictures and having those memories. I wish I had more pictures of my growing up years and more memories of doing things as a family. I know when the kids get the scrapbooks out they look at some of the pictures and say, "I forgot about this", which makes it all worth it. As long as we are able, we will keep doing it. In a lot of ways it is what keeps me going - thinking about what to do next!
